Around the Churches

ANGLICAN

COME along on Sunday when Archdeacon George Hemmings, from Bendigo, will lead our service and, after morning tea, talk with parishioners as we begin the process of finding a new incumbent for our Parish.

Archdeacon George has provided a letter to parishioners and three questions for each of us to reflect on and provide feedback. These papers are available at the church for each of you.

The hall floor is now having the coatings applied to the surface.

The parquetry wood looks amazing and that’s after only the first coat.

We will continue to have no access or restricted access while other coats are applied and the surface hardens, but what a wonderful restoration.

GRAIN SHED

TONIGHT our Grain Shed youth start their Youth Alpha evening with a dinner at 6.30pm followed by fun games and then a video on ‘Does God heal today?’ and some Q&A time after.

The Grain Shed youth camp last weekend at Lake Lascelles went very well. Toasting marshmallows over a campfire, exchanging jokes and stories. Thank you once again to all our dedicated youth leaders, volunteers and those who financially supported, helping make this weekend happen and a success.

This Sunday at 10am, our doors are open, so whether you are a regular, local, visiting, curious, new to town, come along.

Our guest speakers are Sharing Hope, a Christian aid organisation that supports Karen refugee communities on the Thai-Burma border. They will speak about how in the midst of the conflict, there is hope.

We will hear directly from Karen refugees about their stories and listen to their choir sing.

The Grainshed kids’ desk opens at 9.45am for all, from three years until the end of primary school. This month’s key question, “Who made you wonderful? God made me wonderful”. “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”. Psalm 139:14

Monday is mainly music. At 9.30am, our team awaits all the beautiful families who come along to be part of our music segment and then morning tea and playtime.

Wednesday 2pm-3pm come along and join Pastor La’Mont as he leads a weekly church bible study, “Grow”.

Thursday 10am our craft ladies get together armed with a coffee and a project.

Operation Christmas Child – Shoebox appeal: It is time to start shopping for gifts to go into shoeboxes.

This is a project of Samaritan’s Purse.

It is a hands-on way for you to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. Contact reception on 5032 9449 for more information.
