Biggest Morning Tea

OUR gallery girls are holding this event at their gallery in Moulamein from 10.30am until 12 noon today.

The Biggest Morning Tea is a fundraising event to raise money for breast cancer research.

Come in for a cuppa and cake and support this great course.

Our gallery girls now have EFTPOS facilities so you do not need to even bring cash.

Bowls AGM

THE Moulamein Club Bowling committee will be having their annual general meeting at the Moulamein Club at 5pm today. All bowlers and future bowlers are welcome to attend.

Plenty of lights in the paddocks

SOWING of the winter cereal crop is still in full swing.

With the money on offer for this year’s cereal crops, even we have moved the air seeder from under the tree where I parked it a decade or so ago and are throwing a bit of spray, seed and fertiliser at the ground hoping something will come up.

I have given my young feller the job of spraying out good feed to grow our crops as I have been trying to grow feed for years to feed my sheep.

Now we are spraying it out to grow crops. No thick clover out here he tells me. I just do not look as it would break my heart after all the dry times I have been through. How times change.

Old Boys’ Day Out

THE Moulamein Football Netball Club would like to invite all past and present players of our Mighty Swans Old Boys’ Day Out.

This great event will be happening on June 4 when we play Ultima at home. All past and present players are invited to this great day.

I think there is a free spit roast for lunch for them. I know they all get a free feed. Drinks will be available at bar prices.

This great event will kick off at 12 noon and there will also be guest speakers.

We need to get an idea of numbers. If you would like to come over, ring Jody on 0408 182 610 or Travis on 0427 332 610 to book in.

RSVP is a must so they know how many sheep to put on the spit. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Footy at Nullawil this week

WE played our mates from Hay last week. I did not get to footy again, unfortunately, as I had a very important meeting that I could not get out of.

This week is not looking very good either as I could be going away for a while and I have to get a few things in place before I go.

I know our seniors got up in the footy and the rest went down.

We play the big boys of our league this week. Let’s see if the Mighty Swans can bring them down to our level.

River levels

THE Edward at Moulamein has started to rise this week.

Our Edward is now at around 1100 megalitres a day and almost 1.4 metres.

Our mighty Billabong has plenty of water on the way with over 2000 megalitres at the top and still rising.

There is no such thing as a flash flood in our Billabong Creek, though. It takes a month to get here so our Edward will stay up just because of our Billabong for at least a month or more.
