MVP Weekend Pennant begins with decisive victories

THE MVPA Weekend Pennant season is only one week old, but there has already been a major upset, with Bryan Smith leading Nyah District to a 80 shot to 74 win over Racecourse on Saturday afternoon.

Despite winning two of the three rinks, Racecourse were unable to contain Smith and his team, who won their rink 35 shots to 19 to get Nyah’s season off to a winning start.

In the other Division 1 matches, Murray Downs avenged their Grand Final loss last season, defeating Swan Hill 76 shots to 56, while Lake Boga gained a clean sweep over Moulamein, winning all three rinks and claiming a 85 to 59 shot victory.
