Please note we will have our second Tasco Triples event on Sunday, June 16, starting at 12.30pm.

SWAN HILL

THE elusive jackpot is still on the rise, as no team managed to take it out last Friday. Make sure you enter Friday Frolic this Friday to be in with a chance by 2.30pm and arrive early ready to start any time after 2.45pm.

The days get cool earlier and players are anxious to finish and get into the warm clubhouse, where the social activities take place, including happy hour drinks, be them hot or cold, hot snacks and Mick’s much sought-after raffles.

Next Friday, June 14, there will be a change for the second Friday of the month, with the club holding an any-combination two-bowl triples event, consisting of two games of 10 ends, starting at 2pm.

Entries need to be in by 1pm for the draw to be done, with teams accepted as well as single entries, with entry set at $10 per player and casual dress.

Winners will receive $40 each and the runners-up $20 each.

All bowlers and visitors are most welcome, with phone entries to Mick Balchin on 0428 553 913, Graeme Clark on 0417 409 703 or Bill King on 0428324083.

The usual Friday afternoon activities in the clubhouse after the game will still take place, including the jackpot draw.

The last of our club events was finalised on Tuesday, with the 100-up final being contested between Graeme Clark and Brian Quaife in rather cool conditions, with Brian claiming victory after two hours of competitive bowling against club mate Graeme.

LAKE BOGA

OUR pelican jackpot competition last Saturday was hotly contested by a field of 54 players, with the jackpot sitting at $363.

Glenn McIntosh, John Walker and Keith Anderson were particularly happy as they claimed the jackpot, which will now restart next week at $90.

Two-game winners on Saturday were Mick Holyoak, Brian Fowles and Rod Dewhurst, while we had a draw for second position, with David Timms, Ron Atkinson, Ken Hamill, Doug Fisher, Leigh Kingsbury and Laurel Dewhurst sharing the second place prizemoney.

Social bowls this week was played as pairs, with Mick Tempini and Sally Meehan having a big win with plus-40.
