Tradie threatened at work site

A TRADESMAN was working at a house in Stradbroke Avenue at 11.30am on May 14 when he heard a male in an adjoining property and banging on the fence between the two.

The offender looked over the fence and began yelling abuse and challenged the tradie to a fight, appearing to the victim to be very angry.

The offender threw a claw hammer at the victim, which missed, before the victim retreated inside the house he was working on.

After pacing outside the door, the offender attempted to gain access to the property before smashing a window next to the door trying to enter the home.

The offender retreated to the victim’s vehicle, smashing a side window.

Police arrived soon after, arresting the offender.


Drugs and Taser

POLICE pulled over a white utility vehicle after it left a carpark in Curlewis Street about midnight on May 16.

Police observed an imitation firearm, resealable bags containing green vegetable matter believed to be cannabis, and bags containing a white crystal powder believed to be ice.

On further search, police also found a Taser.

The offender was arrested and taken to Swan Hill police station and will face Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court.


Cyclist cautioned

POLICE pulled over a cyclist who did not have lights on his bike on May 17 about 8.50pm.

Police leaving their vehicle saw the cyclist throwing something into a nearby garden.

They searched the cyclist and retrieved the plastic bag, which contained green vegetable matter, from the garden .

The cyclist was cautioned and was taken to Swan Hill police station.


Knives nicked

OFFENDERS smashed the front window of an outdoors store in McNeill Court about 3am on May 14 before entering and stealing several fishing and hunting knives.

Police were seeking witnesses.


Car counter theft

A DEVICE for counting vehicles was stolen from its secured location at the end of Butler Road, Murraydale.

The device was forcibly removed.

Police were seeking further information.


Public toilet damage

OFFENDERS have damaged a toilet-roll holder in the disabled toilet in McCallum Street between May 16 and 17.

Police would like to hear from the community if they know anything about this crime.


Plates pinched

REGISTRATION plates were stolen from a vehicle parked in Beveridge Street between April 30 and May 14.
