Vika and Linda Bull coming to Swan Hill Town Hall

THE Swan Hill Town Hall has announced a big coup for its 2023 line-up, with critically acclaimed duo Vika and Linda Bull to perform in March.

Since their multiplatinum conquest of pop radio with The Black Sorrows in the late 1980s, the sisters have traversed diverse pathways including rock, country, gospel, reggae, R&B, soul and blues, as well as paying tribute to their rich Tongan heritage.

Vika and Linda’s prominent vocals have captivated massive audiences, both here and worldwide, their faultless and emotionally charged harmonies alongside powerful, soul-bending solos are a beacon of warmth to music lovers everywhere.

A highlight reel of their career includes three classic albums with Australian rock legends Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows, six studio albums, two live albums and a chart-topping anthology.

“We always like to work with Australian songwriters and we love to harmonise with each other,” Vika said.

“Through all this, we’ve learnt to be honest with ourselves, work as hard as we can, to take full responsibility for our decisions – both good and bad – and, most importantly, to get the job done and to enjoy ourselves.

“After 35 years, we feel we are just hitting our stride.

“We have never been in a hurry to get to the top. That has never been our goal. Longevity has.”

They have sung on ARIA No. 1 albums with Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and John Farnham, toured with C.W. Stoneking and Deborah Conway, performed for the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and the King of Tonga, and have been nominated for four ARIA Awards.

Late last month, the duo released their first memoir, No Bull.

It’s packed with stories from some of the biggest moments of their musical career to some of their hardest personal battles.
