EVEN though my friend COVID is still hanging around in the cities, our MFNC Swan Hill Truck Service Cash Classic is still going ahead on the Labour Day weekend.
This will be March 6 and 7.
Of course, this will be catch and release only. Most things will be as normal.
You will still get five meals, live music, casting competitions, giant slide and we will pick you up and drop you off in our courtesy bus.
We just must feed you under our COVID plan.
This is promising to be a great weekend the way our rivers are, let’s hope they can keep the cod catching that we have now until then and most of our competitors will catch one or two, or a dozen.
They may be subway cod and they cannot be measured in, but there are plenty of them.
Hope to see you there.
School is back
JUST remember when you are driving through any town at around 9am or 3pm.
This is the rush hours for school children.
Some of them are not very traffic wise yet, so we have to look after them.
They are excited to get to school to see their mates and they are just as excited to get back into the car to go home.
Please look out for them, and if you are traveling through another town, just pretend that it is your children or grandkids that live there.
It helps you be more careful.
Harry lost a swag
WE do not know who Harry is, but he lost a swag on the Moulamein-Swan Hill road about a month ago.
We have rung all the Harrys we know.
None of them have lost a swag.
If you are Harry and can describe this swag, please ring John on 0428 388 492 to get it back.
Beautiful new bridge
I CAME home from Swan Hill the other day the back way, just for something different after waiting for my turn on our Moulamein bridge at Swan Hill.
The new bridge over the Wakool River just shows what can happen if common sense prevails.
A brand new double lane bridge that would have cost millions in the middle of nowhere.
Our Moulamein bridge at Swan Hill is much busier than this one.
But, I still have to wait my turn. Who is holding this very essential bridge up?
I know my mate Peter Walsh wants a new bridge in the only spot available.
I must ask Helen (Dalton) about it next time she comes to town.
Build a bridge and get over it you anti-bridge mob.
I just want to be able to drive to Swan Hill over our Moulamein bridge before I am too old to remember it without giving way.
