About 250 Swan Hill residents turned out to support the launch of the Swan Hill Needs A New Hospital Campaign on Wednesday.
The launch marked the start of an intensive campaign to gain commitments from all political parties to fund a new hospital in Swan Hill before the November election.
Chair of the campaign committee, Les McPhee, spoke, thanking residents for their show of support and calling on politicians to recognise the need for a modern hospital to service the region.
Mr McPhee said the staff at the hospital do an incredible job but the building, which the committee describes as the “most pressing case for renewal in Victoria”, is no longer fit for purpose.
