Pental Island crash under police investigation

POLICE are investigating a crash on Tuesday afternoon on Pental Island Road that resulted in a 79-year-old Swan Hill man being airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital.

A police spokesperson said it is believed a white Toyota Landcruiser towing a trailer veered off the road and crashed into a tree around 3.15pm.

This took place around 100m from Caelli Lane.

Ambulance Victoria, CFA, SES and Victoria Police were on the scene as the male driver and sole occupant were extricated from the vehicle

Paramedics treated the man for upper body injuries, before being airlifted by air ambulance helicopter with non-life threatening injuries and in a stable condition to Melbourne.
