ISABELLA Ayre has realised her dream after she was selected at pick number 51 to become part of the Carlton Blues.
The talented tall will join the world of professional football in early 2017 for the inaugural women’s AFL competition, a massive career step for the Woorinen Tigers player.
For much of 2016, Ayre had been in talks with potential clubs looking to draft the talent, but secretly wanted to head to the Blues because of one reason.
“I really wanted to go to Carlton because of Victoria Country coach Scott Dowans [who is assistant at the Blues], that was a reason,” she told The Guardian.
“I can’t even describe the feeling. I was speechless, it was a great moment I will never, ever forget.
“I had been talking to a couple clubs and they said I would get drafted, it just depended where… I am really happy to go to the Blues.”
