WOOMELANG resident Grant Kelly concedes giving up sport altogether was not an option for his young family.
Earlier this year his family became part of the Nullawil Football/Netball Club where his four children aged between 10 and 15 play both football and netball.
“I have two footy players and two netballers,” Mr Kelly said.
While the family has been welcomed with open arms by the Nullawil Maroons, the transition from one club to another hasn’t come without difficulties.
“It’s a 140km round trip for training, and that’s just the beginning of the end,” Mr Kelly said.
The Nullawil club is affiliated with the Golden Rivers Football League and consists of nine teams within Victoria and New South Wales, including Hay, Moulamein, Murrabit and Ultima.
“The distance we now have to travel is huge,” Mr Kelly said.
