The Swan Hill Town Hall and the Tower Hill tower shone proudly in shades of bright orange on Wednesday night in honour of local State Emergency Service (SES) units.
Members of the Swan Hill SES unit posed in front of the colourful monument as part of Wear Orange Wednesday.
The national day acknowledges and says thanks to the 40,000 SES volunteers across Australia like deputy controller Julie Jochs said the SES often missed out on local recognition as they conducted the business of fixing roofs, trees and attending road accidents.
“We’re the quiet achievers…we don’t have a big red truck,” she said.
SES is always on the lookout for new members with all welcome to attend the volunteer night held every Thursday at 7.30pm, 1 McAllister Road.
