A WOOD Wood business owner has raised concerns that ongoing maintenance issues with the local public toilet block is causing problems for the town’s tourism image.
Wood Wood Caravan Park and general store owner Steve Kendrick said customers regularly complain about the state of the VicRoads-owned bathrooms, which are located across the other side of Murray Valley Highway from the caravan park .
Mr Kendrick said the customers were generally holiday-makers stopping over in Wood Wood, a small town just less than 10km north of Nyah, for lunch or a toilet break while traversing the Murray Valley Highway.
The concerns raised with him included the graffiti covering the bathroom walls, the holes and graffiti carved into cubicle doors, a lack of lighting in the facility and the continual overflowing of the septic pipeline in the grassland adjacent the block.
