Farmers will have a field day

IT IS two weeks and counting until locals flock from far and wide to feast their eyes the best and brightest in farming equipment and machinery at Swan Hill Region Field Days.

Organiser Dean Morpeth is hoping the event will become the main horticulture field event in Swan Hill farmers’ calendars.

“We want something for the companies of Swan Hill to showcase their products, something for the farmers to see all the new equipment, and something for the families,” he said.

The positive feedback garnered from last year’s field day prompted Mr Morpeth to organise another this year.

Mindful of overlaps with the Swan Hill Show this year, and not wanting to steal the thunder form the Swan Hill Food and Wine Festival, Mr Morpeth pulled the event forward to May.

“Site holders were very happy with last year’s event,” Mr Morpeth said.

“We saw enough out of it to say ‘do it again’.”
