Oliver still one in a million for proud parents

WHEN Swan Hill’s Kasey Bennett and Tom Hetherington found out they were having a baby boy, choosing a name for him was easy.

Without seeking any lists, they chose to name their bundle of joy Oliver, due to the “powerful” tone that rang with it.

Little did they know at the time that this name would top the most popular baby name list for 2014.

“My partner really liked ((Oliver)) because it was a strong name, but it had Olly too, which is a cute baby name,” Kasey said.

“As he matures, he could mature into young Oliver.”

The couple were right on trend with their choice of middle name — James — too, which was ranked sixth.
