Fuel prices still among highest

FALLING fuel prices may have come as welcome news to some Swan Hill drivers, however motorists believe that more needs to be done to keep us in line with other regional areas.

Petrol and diesel has fallen over the past few months, with unleaded sitting around 133.5, compared with 152.9 back in November. 

Diesel has also dropped from 154.9 to 139.9.

However, with prices at the pump still being more competitive in Mildura, Bendigo and Echuca, many believe Swan Hill’s motorists should be reaping the same benefits.

“It’s going in the right direction, but it could go more,” Rohan Oliver, a grain farmer from Ultima, said.

“When you see the prices further south, in Melbourne or other rural towns, they are quite a bit lower than the Swan Hill area.
