SWAN Hill’s junior soccer program resumed on Saturday, after a short break for the school holidays. A great turn-up of children enjoyed playing some close games.
Division one
UNITED defeated Colts 7-4 in the opening game of the round.
Shannon Fox scored a hat-trick and Scott Smith found the net twice in Colts’ strong win.
Division two
A CLOSE encounter went to Rover, wining 3-1 against United.
Jun Kim took out the player of the day award for Rovers, while Mitch Canny received the award for United.
Joeys defeated Colts 7-2, with Nathanael Jones and Tyson Kelley-Comb both scoring hat-tricks.
Player of the day for Joeys went to Eva Mesley, while for Colts the award was won by Taylor Rain.
Under 10s
UNITED beat Tigers 5-0. Scorers for United were Jordi Beiton and Dustin Holmes.
For Tigers, Liam Edwards played well and so too did James Barry.
Rovers defeated Joeys 2-1, with Brody Palmer scoring one goal for Rovers and Matthew Molloy booting home the other.
Iziah Hovendon scored the lone goal for Joeys.
Under 8s
THE improvement in Swan Hill’s soccer’s second youngest age-group is easy to see.
Tigers defeated Rovers on Field 5 with Jordan Williams playing well for Tigers, while Lachlan Bull played very well for Rovers.
On Field 4, Colts had a big win over City. Cal Jager played well for Colts and Camden Matarazzo tried hard all match for City.
Hammers beat United with Zephaniah and Malachi Kunst playing well for Hammers while for United Alexander Everitt tried hard for his team.
Under 6s
UNITED and Raiders played an enjoyable game in the lowest age division.
Max Thompson scored a lot of goals for Raiders while Nirvana Jenkin-Jaiswal won the player of the day award.
For United, Samuel Abbott received the player of the day award and Samuel Rogers put in a good team effort.
Tigers beat Joeys in the other match. Jed Young played well for Tigers and for Joeys Sonny Beasy never stopped trying.
