Search for naked yogi

A SUSPECTED yoga enthusiast has caused a stir at Pental Island after taking his practice to the side of a public road — completely naked.

Swan Hill police have been on the lookout for the cheeky offender since receiving a complaint from a bus driver on Monday afternoon.

“What’s been reported is that this man is standing by a tree on the side of the road, forming different postures, naked,” Acting Senior Sergeant Robin McDonald said.

“We’ve received further information to say he’s been doing yoga — but until we find him and interview him we don’t know if that’s the case.”

Acting Snr Sgt McDonald said they had no description of the suspect other than that he was a male, he was naked and that he was last seen on a dirt road just off Pental Island Road.

The Guardian has been told the naked man was spotted under the same tree several times prior to Monday afternoon, but no official reports were made to police until this week.

“We haven’t been able to locate him,” Acting Snr Sgt McDonald

“We’re asking that anybody who sees a naked man to call us.”

He said the man could face criminal charges including offensive behaviour and wilful and obscene exposure for his naked antics.

Anyone with any information should call Swan Hill Police Station on 5036 1600.
