NYAH Nyah West United has climbed to fourth place on the Central Murray A Grade netball ladder following an emphatic home win over Cohuna Kangas on Saturday.

The Demons led at every change on their way to the 53-37 success, highlighted by a 32-goal haul from sharpshooter Denise Snyder.
Snyder’s class in attack helped finish off the fine work further up the court from players such as wing attack Teina Lusty and Carly-Marie Clark.
Goal keeper Clark patrolled the defence with consummate authority, consistently thwarting a series of the Kangas’ attacking raids, while Lusty was dynamite at times.
The margin of the victory was a welcome one for Demons coach Melissa Snyder after two weeks of one-goal results, with NNW United having been on both sides of the ledger.
“It was a bit easier to handle by not having such a close finish this week,” Snyder said.
“We were in control for the whole game and it’s great for us to get back-to-back wins on the board.
“Every win is going to count this year because it is such a tight competition.”
The Demons coach acknowledged the contribution of debutants Hope Shadbolt and Madison Andrews, who stepped up from the junior ranks with aplomb.
Shadbolt came off the interchange bench to score 11 goals in attack, while Andrews enjoyed a good duel with her Kangas counterpart Emily Anderson.
“Both girls have come up from our under-17 team and they made a telling contribution, while we also had another teenager in the team in Georgie Kelly,” Snyder said.
The loss keeps Cohuna in second-last without a win from their opening two matches.
Despite the defeat, there were some positives for the Kangas, most notably the performance of goal attack Kobie Free, who finished with 23 goals and centre court Anderson.
Life doesn’t get any easier for Cohuna, who host Swan Hill on Saturday, while NNW United has the bye before an away showdown with the Swans in Round 5.
