RSL too strong for St Mary’s

RSL claimed victory over St Mary’s Tyntynder in the conclusion to the sides’ Swan Hill District Cricket Association fixture on Saturday.

After dismissing St Mary’s for just 104 on day one of the match, RSL went on to post a first innings total of 180 with Brenton Caldwell adding 63.

Matt Heffer was the most effective of the St Mary’s bowlers, with figures of 3/45.

In its second innings, St Mary’s Tyntynder managed 123 for the loss of seven wickets in the remaining 51 overs of play.

Ultima TUF rolled Nyah District on its own turf on Saturday.

After posting a more-than-competitive 220 on day one of the match, UTUF held Nyah to 165 to complete the first-innings win.

Shane Fleming led by example with a top score of 77, and Joel Walsh contributed a handy 31 but it wasn’t enough to prevent the upset win.

After posting his maiden A grade century last week, Kyle Symons backed up his performance with a brilliant contribution with the ball.

After dismissing Fleming, Symons ripped through the Nyah bottom order to finish with figures of 4/10 off just 3.2 overs.

At Woorinen, the home side recorded a first innings victory over Lakers.

Lakers posted a strong 214 on the first day of the match, but Woorinen proved to be up to the task.

A near-miss century to Gurmander Singh, who was bowled by Matt Smith for 94, proved the difference as the home side finished with 6/216 off 64 overs.

Tooleybuc Manangatang forfeited to Swan Hill.
