THE Swan Hill region is at risk of losing its only soccer club.
The future of
the club hangs in the balance after Tuesday’s annual general meeting failed to
secure an executive committee for the first time in the club’s
history.
Without the commitment from supporters to keep the club and its
junior league going, the league’s 250-odd registered players could be forced to
find an alternative sport or club in 2014.
Swan Hill Soccer League
Incorporated outgoing president Allison Lewin said time was now of the
essence.
“I was absolutely dumbfounded,” Ms Lewin said in response to the AGM
outcome.
“We need the commitment from parents to keep it going.”
