Big crowd for memorial race

A BIG crowd turned out for the Geoff Beasy Memorial on Saturday night with the VSC formula 500s racing for the top prize.

Nine cars took to the track for three heats and a final, with some fast action among the drivers during the heats.

Todd Beasy was racing hard against his brother TJ, with Colin Adams, Andrew Maconachie and Colin Plumridge close behind them.

Once TJ got out in front, however, the other drivers couldn’t catch him.

Throughout the heats some cars encountered problems, so in the final only two cars took to the track.

Both the Beasy boys were to race for the flag and family bragging rights and with the number of laps for the final reduced to five, it made for a short but feisty race.

TJ took to the lead at the first corner and Todd couldn’t quite catch him over the finish line.
