Runaways prompt police warning

LOCAL police have warned youths against running away after two Swan Hill
teenagers were reported missing in separate incidents last week.

The first, a
15-year-old girl, was reported missing by her parents last Wednesday when she
failed to return home from school.

She was missing for three days before
being found at a friend’s house on Saturday and was returned home safely.

The second teenager was a female of around the same age. She was reported
missing on Friday and was found on Saturday morning.

Swan Hill Police
Sergeant Rami Derbas said the problem was common among a select group of
individuals in the community.

He said there were four to five youths in the
community who had been reported missing on at least two occasions.
