A STATEWIDE enforcement operation targeting defective heavy vehicles took place in Swan Hill yesterday.
Focusing on the industrial estate within Karinie Street, the operation was a joint initiative between Vic
Roads, Victoria Police and WorkSafe.
The aim of the operation was to ensure heavy vehicles are meeting the state’s roadworthy requirements.
Entitled Operation Trishula, the campaign has been making its way throughout the state since commencing in October 2012.
Prior to arriving in Swan Hill, inspections were carried out in Charlton on Wednesday and Bendigo on Tuesday.
However, four months into the operation VicRoads regional director Mal Kersting said the results of the operation had uncovered the majority of trucks did not meet the state’s roadworthy requirements.
