New paid parking

CUSTOMERS using the Swan Hill Square Shopping Centre where
Coles is located will be introduced to a new paid parking system from today
onwards.

Free parking is available for 90 minutes followed by a fee of $2 for
the next two hours and $1 for every hour after that.

Care Park has been
appointed to manage the parking at the shopping centre and is beginning the
installation of the new Pay and Display parking system today.

From January
1, the system will be enforced to ensure customers have adequate parking for
their shopping needs at the centre, Care Park public relations manager Yolanda
Torrisi said.

Ms Torrisi said the parking system was easy to use and ensured
Swan Hill Square Shopping Centre customers were not disadvantaged.

Customers
to the shopping centre had often found it difficult to find parking within the
shopping centre car park, she said.

“Parking has been taken up by all-day
parkers parking their vehicles at the centre and either going to work and or
undertaking other business in the area,” she said.

No ticket will be required
to park for up to 90 minutes but a ticket must be pre-purchased from a ticket
machine and displayed on the car dashboard if parking beyond this period is
intended.

“Swan Hill Square Shopping Centre customers wanting to park for up
to 90 minutes can simply drive into the car park, park their vehicle and exit
the car park within the 90 minutes free period,” Ms Torrisi said.
