Sonic stampede

Saturday night at Sonic Speedway will see the F500 Vic Stampede come to town.

The event is always a great spectacle as these racers run wheel to wheel in every heat and final, with 26 plus cars nominated, it is sure to be the biggest field for any feature at Swan Hill this season.

Leading the field and red hot favourite is the Jack Bell from Warrnambool of the Vic 4, who has taken all before him in 2016/2017 season with feature wins in most speedways in the state.

Sonic Speedway will test the majority of these competitors as this is the only 500 metre circuit they run on all year.

As its only three weeks until the National titles at Easter in South Australia this year, drivers not to be taken lightly are James Arronyosi in the v50, Rob Rankin in the v3 and Grant Stansfeild in the 29 car.

The complete Sinclair Family have entered, led by father Mac and two sons in Dale and Ash, with Dale winning two features this year.

He will be in amongst the top competitors alongside Chris Bellman, Terry Rankin, Andrew Rae and Steve Horton who have been up the pointy end all year at most features and will hold nothing back to achieve the win.

Veteran sprintcar drivers Rob Rankin and Steve Bell are always thereabouts at any meeting and will be hard to beat.

Three South Australian racers have entered in Pat Merritt from Bordertown, Jorden Mansell and Hayden Kendrick from Adelaide, and they will only be too happy to take the win away from any Victorian drivers.

Tyler Beasy, driving his locally sponsored Boss Chassis, is the only driver from the local club to contest in the National class and this will be a real test.

Although he won this event last year and this season he has been up there with the best of them, in all types of Motorsport you need a little luck on your side but you can be assured he will give his all.

With the rain mid week, all competitors are expecting a fast and smooth track with the curators working overtime to please all the visiting drivers from around the country.

This will be a big night of racing with our support classes being Modified Sedans VSC Formulas, VSC Juniors, V8 Modified, VSC Open and Standard Saloons. Racing Starts at 6pm, gates open at 3pm
