SWAN HILL’s Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) branch has an impressive array of leaders amongst it’s membership but the group which is focused on strengthening women’s equality has just expanded it’s membership several fold.
As part of an initiative to increase leadership skills of women in rural towns, BPW successfully applied for funding to run a six month course – Stepping Up To Leadership.
The BPW’s core focus is to take action for women’s equality at work and addressing issues that effect women at work.
The new program will aim to up skill 20 participants from across the Mallee to develop leadership qualities that will enhance their work and community lives.
The program will incorporate group work, workshops, guest speakers and individual work.
Participants will take the knowledge back to their own communities and try to take an active role in their area of interest.
