WARRANTS have been issued for a real life Bonnie and Clyde after a crime spree in Balranald last week in which a police car was rammed.
Arrest warrants have been issued for Daniel Trask, 30, and Natasha Umpelvy, 28, who are described as Caucasian, approximately 60-65 kilograms and 50-55kg respectively, both between 170-175 centimetres tall.
Trask has black hair and unshaven while Umpelvy is of a thin build, fair complexion and with red/ginger hair.
They were last seen entering a Ford Falcon ute at the Buronga service station after being picked up by another female. It is believed they may now be in Victoria.
On Thursday at approximately 5.15pm until 5.30pm it is alleged that the pair committed a string of armed robberies, including that of the supermarket on Market Street.
Moments previous to this it is claimed they stopped at a service station on the Sturt Highway where they filled their Jeep Cherokee before fleeing without paying.
Highway patrol police from Balranald noticed the Jeep, which had stolen plates, on the Sturt Highway near Euston and engaged pursuit.
During the pursuit the vehicle stopped and reversed into the police car causing extensive damage. Neither of the police were injured.
The Jeep was found abandoned a short distance away and despite an extensive search by police, the occupants remain at large.
Anyone who sees Daniel Trask or Natasha Umpelvy are urged not to approach them but to contact the police immediately on Triple Zero (000).
