WITH Mental Health Week approaching next week the Country Fire Authority (CFA) are getting behind local initiatives to raise awareness.
Volunteers from Beverford and District, and Nyah, Nyah West fire brigades will be on hand in emergency vehicles to show the CFA’s support for Mental Health Week, which this year runs from October 9-15.
They will host a walk on Friday, October 14, to highlight the importance of mental health.
The walk begins at about 11.20am, leaving from, and returning to, the Swan Hill Town Hall. There will be a free barbecue with music and guest speakers afterwards. Local CFA staff and volunteers will be available after the walk to chat with community members and show them around the vehicles.
District 18 Operations Manager John Bigham said the CFA was committed to the good mental health of its members and strived to be an inclusive and diverse organisation that was representative of the community.
