Blazers through to grand final

THE Woorinen Blazers took on the Tooleybuc Buccaneers at the RSL on Wednesday night to see who would progress to the grand final, where the RSL Have A Goes awaited.

The Blazers started well, managing to drop only one of their doubles games, and thus needed only two more wins to clinch victory.

Holden Ward won a very closely contested singles match against Tyrone Munro two legs to one to give the Blazers a four to one lead.

The next singles match between the Buccaneers’ Tom Ketts and Blazers’ Sophie Williams was also a very closely contested affair, with Ketts winning two legs to one over his much younger opponent.

The third singles match between the Blazers’ Marc Williams and Buccaneers’ Shane Faulkner was a one-sided affair, with Williams on fire and playing some of his best darts for the season.

As such, Williams gave the Blazers the required fifth game to send them through to next Wednesday’s grand final.

The RSL will host the grand final on Wednesday April 24 between the RSL Have A Goes and the Woorinen Blazers, with those interested encouraged to go along to see some exciting darts and the conclusion of the 2023-24 Swan Hill Dart Association Summer Competition.

The 2024 winter season will be starting soon and the association is looking for expressions of interest from anyone considering entering the competition.
