LABOR’S Mallee candidate has defended her Canberra counterparts, after current
sitting member John Forrest slammed this year’s Federal Budget as “more chaos,
debt and spin”.
“For Mallee families, this budget does nothing to help deal
with cost of living pressures, economic uncertainty and poor services,” the
Member for Mallee said.
“Labor has again broken its word to the people of
Mallee. They promised no carbon tax and a surplus,” the Nationals party member
said.
“Instead we got a carbon tax, record deficits and in this Budget, Labor
scrapped promised tax cuts, family payments and the baby bonus.”
But Labor
candidate for the Mallee Lydia Senior defended the budget savings.
“I think
we’ve just got to look at real-life economies of what we’re facing. People don’t
have crystal balls.
