Blues finish strong to secure top-three spot

KERANG have finished off their home-and-away season in style after defeating Balranald by 12 goals at Greenham Park on Saturday.

The Blues secured their spot in the top three, and the double chance, without number one goal shooter Denise Roberts, with back up goaler Jamison Wise taking her place in the 49-37 victory.

Wise was a solid contributor for the Blues and led the way in the ring with 25 goals, just ahead of teammate Katelyn Wright (24 goals).

Balranald’s Bec Harvey was the game’s leading goal scorer with 26 goals.

For Kerang co-coach Chloe Adams, it was not only the perfect end to her team’s regular season, but also the perfect build up for their finals campaign.

“The final score certainly didn’t reflect the game,” Adams said.

“Jamison (Wise) really stood up for us against Jess (Parry) who is super strong and experienced player, but ‘Jam’ absolutely held her own and was a super strong target for us and was really accurate on the shot.

“‘Ranga’ (Wright) supported her beautifully and had another incredible game in goal attack.

“We also rotated our midcourt throughout the game and the girls adjusted so well, as they have done all season.

“It was great to have such a tough contest in some warmer weather ahead of finals.”

FINAL WHISTLE

Balranald 37
Kerang 49
