Fire causes damage

A FIRE caused considerable damage to vintage motorcycles and farm machinery at Polisbet, west of Swan Hill.

The owner of a property on Chillingollah Road noticed a fire in his shed at about 10.30pm on Tuesday last week.

Firefighters rushed to the scene but the blaze had ripped through the shed and its valuable contents.

The cause of the fire was not being treated as suspicious.


Unauthorised purchases

A MAN used his friend’s phone to make online purchases without her knowledge.

Police said the victim had lent the man her phone, giving him access to apps and accounts stored on the device.

Police urged people to be cautious and take precautions if giving someone access to phones and other devices.


Bikes stolen

A BIKE was stolen from a Swan Hill supermarket on Sunday.

The blue and grey bike was taken from Coles on Beveridge Street some time between 4.30am and 8.30am, police said.

A red and black Giant Gory mountain bike was stolen from a Boys Street, Swan Hill front yard at about 1pm on Friday last week.


Drug charge

A MAN was found in possession of a drug of dependence in Swan Hill earlier this week.

Police said they searched a 39-year-old male in the CBD and found a quantity of white powder.

He was arrested, charged and bailed to appear in court at a later date.


Online scam

A WOMAN was scammed on a Swan Hill Facebook group page.

Police said the victim paid cash to put for sale items on hold, pending viewing.

The victim went to an address to find that the items were not there and that it had been a scam.


Vehicle missing

A VEHICLE was stolen in Swan Hill last week.

The green Honda Jazz went missing from the Staley Court property some time between 7pm on Tuesday last week and 9am the following day.
