Church Notes

Anglican

WHAT a privilege to live in Australia, a beautiful land and citizens that welcome people from other countries into this democratic country.

Last week we had a great boot sale, with so many people popping in that we almost sold out of Joan’s scones.

On Monday and Wednesday, our op shop at Nyah West reopened after a holiday break.

Customers were thankful it was open and we had lots of sales. Thank you for your support of both of these community opportunities.

Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Day, is on February 13 and we are holding a low-key pancake night at 6.30pm.

Details and the booking list are in the Swan Hill church foyer.

Ash Wednesday is the next day, the beginning of Lent.

There are three Lenten study groups planned; one at Nyah West on Thursday afternoons, Wednesday after the 10am Swan Hill service and an evening one in Swan Hill, most likely Mondays.

Again, the lists are in the foyer so please add your name if you wish to participate, or call the office.

“DON’T remember the prior things; don’t ponder ancient history. Look! I’m doing a new thing; now it sprouts up; don’t you recognize it? I’m making a way in the desert, paths in the wilderness.” – Isaiah 43:18-19

As the school holidays draw to a close, change and new are on many tips of tongues. Change of class, change of role with all children at school, new job, new gym class, and so on.

Be encouraged to pray for comfort and peace for all the students starting, students returning, teachers, families and all other activities as they commence this new year.

Here, we are getting ready for our in-house activities to start up again.

This Sunday at 10am, come along, invite a friend and hear Pastor Shayne’s message. After the service, join in with a drink and a chat in fellowship.

Next Thursday our craft ladies get back over a good coffee and chat from 10am.
