MURRAY DOWNS LADIES
IN cool and windy conditions, 51 women ventured out at Murray Downs on Wednesday.
Plus three was the best score of the day with Lynne Bishop (11) surviving a countback from Marg Moore (20) to win Division 1.
Lynne has recently purchased Big Bertha clubs from new professional Matt Docking and has been using them to great effect over the past couple of months.
In Division 2, Julie Overall (34) continued her winning form from last week with two up to win from Carolyn Zambelli (30) one up.
Maralyn Morrison, Diane Nalder and Jenice Krahnert also scored one up to lead the ball rundown.
Sue-Anne Beattie, Chris Warburton, Lynne Bishop and Carol Wiseman claimed the nearest the pin prizes.
A group of golfers known as the Golden Girls compete every Friday morning and at their yearly presentation recently, Marie Cruickshank and Jenny White tied for the Golfer of the Year title.
Marie is on the cusp of becoming a nonagenarian and is a great advertisement for the fact that golf is a game for all ages.
