Burglar flees

A would-be burglar was seen casing the Honda Store in Swan Hill at 3.50am on October 19. Police say the Caucasian man was wearing a checked flannelette shirt, blue jeans, and white adidas sneakers and carrying a blue duffle bag. After looking through the front windows, the man put on gloves and slipped between a gate and a fence, entering the rear of the property. He was carrying wire cutters and shining a light into vehicles. Soon after, a security vehicle pulled up at the front of the store, disturbing the male who fled over the back fence, leaving the bag behind. The store’s owner transported the duffle bag to the Swan Hill police station, which contained a battery-powered angle grinder and a sock tied in a knot with a metal weight inside it.
