THEY went in underdogs and came out premiers.
Kerang’s B Reserve side overcame some early grand-final nerves to secure a 12-goal win over Koondrook-Barham.
The River Raiders had a three-goal lead going into the first break, but the Blues settled in the second quarter.
They were one goal ahead at half-time and continued to grow their lead from there until the final siren.
Blues playing coach Zenda Peacock told The Guardian she was “bloody ecstatic” her team was able to come out on top.
“It’s just so exciting and amazing, our team just kept going all day,” she said.
“It was quite a clean game, the umpiring was awesome.”
Kerang midcourter Mikala McNeill was named as best on court for a solid, consistent performance.
“She just runs all day, gets her hands to everything and applies great pressure,” Peacock said.
