A Reserve – Mallee Eagles v Balranald
Mallee Eagles 41
Balranald 40
Best on court: Julia Amezdroz (Mallee Eagles)

THE Mallee Eagles completed an undefeated A Reserve season, but on the final day just one goal separated them and Balranald.

Coming back from a five-goal deficit at three-quarter time, the Eagles left everything on the court, with a shot by Jorja McDonald in the dying seconds of the match taking the lead at the exact right time.

Eagles coach Meg Allen said she was “stoked” her team was able to get over the line.

“It was an incredible game and I think we were just up at the right time, and that happened to be in the last 30 seconds,” she said.

“I’m just so proud of our little community and our team – A Res have been fighting for that premiership every year, so it is so nice that we finally got it.”

Best on court was awarded to Eagles’ shooter Julia Amezdroz, who was also awarded the league best and fairest earlier in the week.
