TODAY

2pm-3pm: String art with Bunnings. Free for ages five and older. Join Bella, from Bunnings Swan Hill, as NAIDOC Week is celebrated with this fun string-art activity. There will also be a dreamtime storybook reading and exploring of the story behind the boomerang. Bookings required.

8pm: Live music at Swan Hill Club featuring Scoogs.

Evening: Live music at Swan Hill RSL Club featuring Cathy Weybury.

Evening: Live music at One28 Doors featuring Charlie Bedford.

8pm: Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic tour at the Swan Hill Town Hall. Adults $74.70, pensioner and senior $67.70, group of six or more $69.70 per person (one transaction), child 13 years and under $45.70. Smoke, haze and lighting effects will be used in the performance. Theatre-style seating. Tickets available online at swanhilltownhall.com, in-person at Swan Hill Town Hall booking office (9am-2.30pm) or Swan Hill Region Information Centre (9am-5pm).


TOMORROW

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km course. It’s the best way to kick off the weekend. Walk, jog, run or volunteer. It’s free, but register before your first run. It is entirely organised by volunteers. More information at www.parkrun.com.au/lakebogaforeshore

All day: Central Murray Football Netball League round 11 (NAIDOC Round). Balranald v Cohuna, Woorinen v NNW United, Koondrook-Barham v Mallee Eagles, Lake Boga v Tooleybuc-Manangatang, Kerang v Swan Hill. Tyntynder has the bye.

8.30am-12.30pm: Robinvale Country Market features various market stalls, fresh produce, plants and entertainment.

9am-noon: Nyah District Lions Country Market features various stalls including honey, fruit and vegetables, plants, donuts, bric-a-brac. Set up a stall for free. Entry by gold coin donation. Dogs on leash welcome.


SUNDAY

10.30am: 2023 men’s and ladies 4BBB Stableford at Lakeside Golf in Lake Boga. Assembly at 10.30am, hit-off from 11am. $30 per pair.

3pm: Bingo at Swan Hill RSL Club.


JULY 11

9.30am: Social bowls at Nyah. Names in by 9.30am for 10am start. $10 per person includes lunch.

7pm: Showbiz Cinemas movie fundraiser of Jesus Revolution. All funds raised will be donated to Safe Shelter Swan Hill. General admission and refreshments available. Tickets cost $15 available on the night, unless sold out, or at Clark’s Gift Salon, Steve’s Fish & Fillet or the Grain Shed Church of Christ.


JULY 12

8.30am: Mildura Health Fund golf day Ambrose with a twist at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club. 8.30am assembly, shot gun start. $20 per person.

8pm: Swan Hill Old Time Dancing at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club after the draw.


JULY 13

6pm-8pm: Barefoot bowls at Tooleybuc Sporting Club. Names in by 5.45pm on the night or message Danielle on 0403 548 149. Open to all ages and abilities. Finger food provided. Wear flat shoes, thongs or bare feet. No experience necessary.


ALL MONTH

Until July 30, Tuesday-Friday (10am-5pm), Saturday and Sunday (10am-4pm): Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery exhibition Milloo Dreaming (This Time In A Wetland). Following a year of extraordinary rainfall and flooding, replenishing the floodplains of our region, First Nations artists from the Swan Hill region respond with traditional weaving, drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, historical artefacts and photography. Milloo Dreaming allows us to reflect on the deep connection between our First Nations people and the extensive network of rivers, creeks, billabongs, lakes and floodplains. They will be complemented by works from young First Nations artists in the studio gallery.
