MURRAY DOWNS LADIES

PERFECT wintry conditions greeted the 39 women who took out cards in the July Monthly Medal on Wednesday.

Maree Thurwood is one of the most consistent competitors at the club and on this occasion, she showed her ability, with a score of 87-16-71 to win her eighth medal, but only after surviving a countback from Pam Austerberry (22) and Mandy Amezdroz (48).

Pam took out the runners-up trophy in Division One, with Mandy McCallum (44) 76 runner-up in Division Two.

Janelle Hogan was in form with her 30 putts, winning the least putts, while the nearest the pin prize winners were Pam Austerberry, Marg Moore, Lois Carnie and Jenny Lynas.

Jenny Lynas, Marg Moore, Shelley Wilkins, Claris Bourne, Suzanne Napier and Sally Fearn collected balls.

Nadine Cox (50) 42 points and Joan Foster (36) 35 points were Saturday’s winners, with the next best scores coming from Ruth McAlister and Jenny Lynas, both on 31 points.

Deb Watson and Nadine Cox hit the most accurate shots to the 2nd and 11th.

Claris Bourne (28) 35 points, Kristy Gordon (13) 34 points and Olive Spitty (1) 33 points led a small field on Sunday.

Kathy Parkinson, Audrey Domaille, Jan Butcher and Marg Moore represented Murray Downs at the playoff for the Golfer Of The Murray title at the Corowa Golf Club last weekend, with Kathy and Audrey scoring a massive 45 points and taking out the title.

LAKESIDE

PAR was the game of the day, with the heavy conditions proving challenging.

The winner was Mandy Male, while the runner-up was Deanne Free.

Ball run down was won by Ruth McAlister and Mandy Ackland, while the nearest the pins on the 3rd and 7th were won by Mandy Male, 12th Ruth McAlister and 18th Mandy Ackland.
