I WRITE to provide comment to Shadow of Fear (The Guardian, May 30), in which the article refers to the sentencing of Dr Shafiul Milky whilst a practicing doctor on the Victorian Surf Coast following his previous appointment as a practicing doctor in Swan Hill.
I confirm that Dr Shafiul Milky was a contracted visiting medical officer to Swan Hill District Health (SHDH) for a brief period during 2010 and 2011 and departed SHDH in July 2011.
SHDH has reviewed all information available on the care provided by Dr Milky at SHDH, and had not identified any information of concern from our review in respect to this time period of this practitioner.
I would also wish to make an observation on the placement of this rather disturbing article in The Guardian outlining this abhorrent, and unlawful behaviour of an individual, rogue practitioner on the same page(s) as the positive story Softer Approach on our local medical students inspiring what we hope to be a new generation of health care professionals, the children of Nyah District Primary School.
I believe that this positive story highlighting the benefits of our local medical training program may be intrinsically linked to the story on Dr Shaiful Milky as a result of this placement of the articles.
