THE Mallee Eagles had a comfortable 38-goal win over Nyah-Nyah West United at the weekend.
The Demons did their best to keep their heads up during a tough match, but the Eagles were in control from the beginning, more than doubling the NNW score at every break.
Coming back from a bye, Eagles playing coach Meg Allen said she was pleased her team was able to put together four consistent quarters on Saturday.
“Nyah were strong competitors across the court, but our defenders continued to gel nicely together and were able to help turnover the ball with Sarah Young being one of our best on court,” she said.
“It’s good to get our second win and hopefully we can keep building on that momentum.”
Demons defender Aleesha Flanagan was among her team’s best in the match, battling all game against Eagles shooters Kellie Walker and Megan Thorneycroft.
FINAL WHISTLE:
Mallee Eagles 66
NNW United 28
