Central Murray: Cohuna Kangas v Swan Hill

COHUNA KANGAS v SWAN HILL

A REJUVENATED Swan Hill will travel south to Cohuna, the winner set to move a game clear inside the top five – and the loser to sit a game outside.

The Kangas jumped out of the blocks against Kerang last Saturday, but were unable to maintain the rage, going down to the reigning premiers by 38 points.

It was a vastly different scenario for the Swans, who claimed their second-straight win of the season against NNW United by 32 points, despite inaccuracy in front of goals plaguing them.

Nathan Taylor and Brenton Conforti are both in line to return for Cohuna, providing they pass fitness tests, while Rhys Free was under a cloud having injured his hamstring last week.

The Swans will go in with a similar side to last week’s, with the exception of Michael Hurley, whose appearance in the maroon and white was a one-off.

Swan Hill’s big strength lies with their ability to get first hands on the ball, with Matt Wade, Brandon Houlihan and Jose Miliado holding the keys to winning it out of the middle against the likes of Joel Helman, Jarrod Findlay, Sam McGlone and Daniel Coates.

While Swan Hill will go in as underdogs, they have shown improvement over previous weeks – but an upset of the Kangas, especially at Cohuna, might be too big of an ask.

Tip – Cohuna to win by 26 points.
