Hats off to Beverford Primary

BEVERFORD Primary School students raised $1037 for the Mallee MRI Appeal with their annual Easter Raffle.

Principal Phillip Cox said the junior school council chose the appeal as the recipient of the proceeds.

“They were aware of the Mallee MRI Appeal and thought it would be fitting for us to donate to it,” he said.

“We had eight different hampers all made with goods donated by the families of our school community, and the families sold raffle tickets.

“For a school of 32 kids to raise just over $1000 is incredible, really.”

The raffle was drawn at the school’s Easter Hat Parade.

“The junior school council ran an Easter egg hunt and an egg-and-spoon race along with the Easter Hat Parade and we had a massive crowd of friends and family along,” Mr Cox said.

“It was a great way to end the term.”Another 100 books donated

LYNNE Dunoon has donated another 100 copies of her cookbook Go-To Recipes to be sold in support of the Mallee MRI Appeal, as nearly all of the copies from the original allocation have been sold.

The book is now also available at Priceline Pharmacy, along with Swan Hill District Library, Clark’s Gift Shop and Ray White.

Mrs Dunoon said the community’s support makes a difference.

“A heartfelt thank you goes to Gwen Phyland and Margaret Gardener for their ongoing efforts in managing this initiative,” she said.

“We also deeply appreciate the generosity of a new outlet, Janine and Rick Kent from Priceline Pharmacy, the Swan Hill District Library, Clark’s Gift Shop, and Ray White, who continue to serve as book outlets at no cost, ensuring that 100 per cent of the proceeds go directly toward funding the MRI machine for the hospital.”

Go-To Recipes is a unique resource for every occasion, featuring 300 recipes contributed by 60 Australian home cooks, including Swan Hill residents.

It includes special sections on cooking for people living with disability, children’s parties, picnic ideas, wine terminology, hosting, and guest etiquette.

These are the final copies that will be donated, so Mrs Dunoon recommends interested customers purchase their copy soon to contribute to the Mallee MRI Appeal.
