Arrest made over car break ins

A MAN charged with 20 offences relating to theft and burglary is believed to be the main offender of a recent spree of motor vehicle break-ins.

However, Swan Hill Police Acting Inspector Brian Hansen said there were still several other people detectives were looking into.

“He has been charged with the offences, and he was certainly the main offender,” Insp Hansen said.

“The community still needs to remain cautious, make sure your houses and vehicles are locked and don’t leave anything visible that is going to create a temptation for potential offenders.”

The 35-year-old man was arrested in Swan Hill on Thursday, February 20 and charged with offences including attempted aggravated burglary, numerous theft from motor vehicles and obtaining property by deception.
