Students get active with program

BEVERFORD Primary School has hosted the first Active Youth Program in conjunction with Mallee Sports Assembly-Wycheproof for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6.

The four-week program was part of the VicHealth Future Healthy initiative which aims at encouraging youth to participate in regular physical activity and make positive life choices.

The program has been designed from the information collected from a survey conducted by the Mallee Sports Assembly which identified what the students wanted for their sessions/workshops.

These sessions include Disability Awareness, Drug and Alcohol (with Victoria Police), Bat Tennis, Bullying (headspace Swan Hill), Lawn Bowls (Swan Hill racecourse Bowls Club) and Dance/Pilates (Swan Hill Leisure Centre).
