THERE were 20 players at Social Bowls last week, with congratulations going to the winners Rob Smith and Dawne Holland.
The jackpot was not won, so it will be nice to win when social bowls resumes next week after the NSW Golf Open has finished and the greens are open again.
Duty members next week are Bob Napier and Carl Fox.
Congratulations to the Murray Downs ladies Judy Wilson, Noelene Weir, Connie Rovere and Kerry Jenkins (sub) who won the Murray Valley Ladies Triples event last Sunday at the Swan Hill Bowls Club.
They will now progress to the Murray Mallee Region finals in March.

TODAY is a massive day for our club as it marks the official opening of our new synthetic green.
The ceremony, at 3pm, when Peter Walsh will declare the green open, will be followed by two games of 10 ends of any combination triples bowls, which in turn will be followed by a finger food buffet.
We have had two weeks of jackpot bowls on our new green, with Glenn McIntosh and Kevin Vivian the winners with two wins and +19 shots on Thursday, November 7, with Graeme Bennett and Helen Frame finishing second with one win and +13 shots.
This week, on November 14, David Jonkers, Helen Frame and Max Renney finished on top with two wins and +20 shots, while the runner’s up, with one win and +13 shots, were Bruce Horsburgh and Lindsay Toomer.
The Fluffy Tails (Team 1) won their third match of the year last week, after beating Kerang Golf by three shots.

LAST Saturday’s Division 1 pennant side only managed to win one rink at Nyah, that was B. Quaife’s rink who defeating B. Smith by four shots.
S. Coe overcame B. Husson’s rink by four shots which levelled the score, however R. Wickham defeated A. Shields team by 24 shots to give Nyah District the win.
The one’s will host Racecourse 2 tomorrow for the second time as round two begins, with Swan Hill having a good win the first time around, but things can change as players settle into teams.
Division 2 won all three rinks last Saturday against Racecourse 3, with A. Marshman leading his rink to a 40-14 win, J. Thompson winning 28–18 and R. Poole winning 25–24, giving the two’s a 37-shot win.
Tomorrow they will meet Lake Boga for the first time at home.
Midweek pennant was a great day for the Division 2 side, who played at home against Balranald with Swan Hill winning both rinks well and recording a 40-shot victory.
The two’s will travel to Tooleybuc on Tuesday and will be trying for another win.
Division 1 crossed the river to play Murray Downs 2 with both rinks ending in a close finish, with B. Quaife’s side down two shots and W. King’s team down three, meaning Murray Downs claimed the points.
Our one’s will host Lake Boga on Tuesday for their second meeting, with the first round seeing Swan Hill win by four shots.
Today our Friday Frolic will be on at 3pm so make sure your name is entered by 2.30pm.
All are welcome to this social afternoon regardless of your status as a bowler or beginner, with the Jackpot now above $100, giving all who play a chance of cracking it, with social activities in the cool clubhouse afterwards.

TOOLEYBUC hosted Manangatang 1 last Saturday and had a great day, recording another win with victory on all three rinks, with the final score being 88 to 60. The best rink on the day was T. Armstrong’s team winning by 20 shots, followed A. Smith’s team winning by seven shots and a close win for A. Adams’ team by one shot.
Well done to all players and let’s hope to continue this form tomorrow when we play Racecourse 3 at Racecourse.
Midweek pennant this week was played against Racecourse 4 at Racecourse and for some it was the first time playing on the new synthetic green, which took a bit of time to adjust to the difference.
Racecourse 4 won both rinks with the final score being a 57 to 35 loss.
Next week Tooleybuc will play at home against Swan Hill 2.

THE final day of the ladies state triples was played at Swan Hill on Sunday, with J. Wilson, N. Weir and K. Jenkins winning, finishing on seven points ahead of three teams on six points.
The runner’s up were K. Evans, J. Husson and D. Weaver on 6 points and 116%, with T. Armstrong, D. Adams and P. Gardner following on six points and 103% ahead of L. Tompsett, K. Smith and S. Meehan on six points and 86%.
