Roberts shows outstanding talent

NEVAEH Roberts is a highly committed 17-year-old sportsperson who has shown outstanding individual netball talent throughout her short career.

Having been identified at an early age at Mallee Eagles as a player to watch, Roberts has always played above her age level, benefiting her development.

This also flowed into the senior group, with Roberts being identified as a training partner and player for A Grade and A Reserve in 2022, at just 15.

This continued in 2023, when Roberts again stepped up and earned a regular position in the Eagles’ A Reserve team, as well as playing a handful of games with the A Grade team.

Roberts’ performance, focus and resilience through this earned her a spot in the starting A Reserve team for 2023 and a place as A Grade training partner and player.

Roberts was also an integral part of Mallee Eagles’ A Reserve 2023 premiership win.

Her height, agility and ability to read the play ensure she has been a strong and skilled contender in the defensive end from the beginning.

This year Roberts dominated in defence as either goal keeper or goal defence as required in her A Grade team.

A fair and consistent performer with an excellent work ethic in training and on game day, Roberts has always been held in high esteem by her teammates and coaches.

Roberts is a mature teenager who leads by example and always displays the utmost respect for teammates, opposition, and officials, which is reciprocated.

She represented Central Murray FNL in all junior representative sides from 2019 to 2023 at the Bendigo and Echuca tournaments, Netball Victoria’s Northern Zone association championships and Netball Victoria’s association championships. Roberts has also represented Murray Region at the Netball Victoria titles.

She was selected in 2021 and 2022 by Netball Victoria to be a part of its Talent Academy program, and in 2022 was chosen in the top 25 for the 17 & Under state squad.

With her impressive experience, it’s no surprise that Roberts has achieved numerous accolades in netball, being the recipient of many awards at club and league level.

Roberts always strives to perform at the highest level in all areas of her life.

Her multifaceted contributions on the field and behind the scenes have made her an invaluable asset to the Mallee Eagles.
