CMFNL NETBALL RUN HOME

ROUND 17

1st – Lake Boga

Played – 14, Wins – 14, Points – 56, Percentage – 162.89

Round 17 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Away

Round 18 – v Mallee Eagles @ Home

Summary

THE unbeaten Magpies should hold onto top spot, but the Swans are still breathing down their necks. Tough game next weekend against the Eagles, but as long as Lake Boga beat Tooleybuc-Manangatang by a comfortable margin and boost their percentage, then they won’t have to worry about losing to the Eagles.

2nd – Swan Hill

Played – 14, Wins – 13, Points – 52, Percentage – 161.83

Round 17 – v Cohuna @ Home

Round 18 – v Kerang @ Away

Summary

THE Swans will need everything to go their way in order to finish in top, with the Magpies losing one of their final two matches. Both Cohuna and Kerang will be hungry, with both clubs fighting for fifth spot, meaning the Swans will need to be at their best in order to keep their winning streak going.

3rd – Mallee Eagles

Played – 14, Wins – 9, Points – 36, Percentage – 122.16

Round 17 – v Kerang @ Home

Round 18 – v Lake Boga @ Away

Summary

WHILE the Eagles have locked in finals netball, they also face a difficult task to stay finish in the top three with a challenging run home. Will need to beat Kerang, who have been fighting hard and are now pushing for finals, before finishing the season against unbeaten ladder leaders Lake Boga next week.

4th – Balranald

Played – 14, Wins – 9, Points – 36, Percentage – 117.25

Round 17 – v Woorinen @ Away

Round 18 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Home

Summary

GUARANTEED of playing finals, but Balranald will now be pushing for the top three. After having the week off, the Roos remain in the hunt for third after Swan Hill defeated the Eagles last Saturday, but will need to beat both a hungry and determined Woorinen and an in-form Tooleybuc-Manangatang to be any chance of usurping the Eagles.

5th – Cohuna

Played – 14, Wins – 7, Points – 28, Percentage – 98.64

Round 17 – v Swan Hill @ Away

Round 18 – v NNW United @ Home

Summary

COHUNA are the team under pressure, with a tough run home and the Tigers, Blues and Bulldogs all breathing down their necks. If Cohuna lose to the Swans and Woorinen upset Balranald, the Kangas will need to beat competitive Demons to finally break their finals drought.

6th – Woorinen

Played – 14, Wins – 6, Points – 24, Percentage – 90.03

Round 17 – v Balranald @ Home

Round 18 – v Tyntynder @ Away

Summary

The equation for Woorinen is simple – beat both Balranald and Tyntynder or else their season is done. Will still be relying on other results to go their way, especially with their lowly percentage set to count against them.

7th – Kerang

Played – 14, Wins – 5, Draws – 1, Points – 22, Percentage – 102.33

Round 17 – v Mallee Eagles @ Away

Round 18 – v Swan Hill @ Home

Summary

INCREDIBLE to think that their first win didn’t come until round 9, yet here Kerang are fighting for a spot in the finals. Must win both games and rely on a lot of things falling their way, with a difficult run home meaning if they do play finals they will have earned it. With games against the Eagles and Swan Hill to finish the season, it seems almost impossible for the Blues to make finals this season, but who would have thought they would have even come this far a few weeks ago.

8th – Tyntynder

Played – 14, Wins – 5, Draws – 1, Points – 22, Percentage – 87.77

Round 17 – v Koondrook-Barham @ Away

Round 18 – v Woorinen @ Home

Summary

TYNTYNDER might not have as difficult finish to the season as the Blues do, but a lot needs to fall their way if they are to play finals. Should beat Koondrook-Barham, then face Woorinen in a must-win game next week. If the Bulldogs can defeat both the River Raiders and the Tigers, then they could potentially play finals, providing that Cohuna, Kerang, and Woorinen lose their respective games.
