Toohey has a go in darts

THIS week saw the Swan Hill Club Blazers take on the RSL Have A Goes at the Swan Hill Club as the match of the round, with both teams tied at two games-all following the teams events.

From that point on, the Have A Goes took the game out of reach of the Blazers, dropping just one of their singles games to come out on top 6-3.

Col Toohey from the Have A Goes pegged a 3/76 in one of his singles to win a 21 dart game, while Sophie Williams threw an equal top score for the women of 130.

Out at the Tooleybuc Hotel, the Tigers took on Let’s Get Pegged, with the night starting well for Let’s Get Pegged by winning three of the four doubles games.

The Tigers lifted their game in the singles and levelled the night at four a piece, winning three of the four singles, leaving the teams game to be the match decider.

The Tigers took out that game and won the night 5-4, which was helped in no small part by a 180 from Kyle Adamson, with Rhiannon Glare from Let’s Get Pegged throwing the shortest game for the women with a 22 dart match.

The RSL Gunners hosted the Ultima Bullchuckers at the Swan Hill RSL and the visitors got off to a flyer, with the Bullchuckers winning the four doubles and the first singles to take a five-nil lead.

That’s where things took a turn however, with the Gunners turning it on after that and winning the remaining three singles and the teams event to eventually go down 5-4.

Despite the loss, it was the Gunners best performance to date this season, with Tobias Bacon beating Deryck Allen for his first scalp of the season and Cassie Gabler beating Richard Ward for her first singles win this year, with a women’s best peg of 3/65 and an equal top score of 130.
